Safety, Screening, and Medical Disclaimer
BreathHoldWork® is education in breath-hold training and nervous system self-regulation. It is not medical care, not therapy, and not a substitute for the judgment of your physician. No content in this program diagnoses, treats, or cures any condition.
Consult your physician before training if any of the following apply to you
- Heart disease, arrhythmia, or any cardiac event in your history
- Uncontrolled high or low blood pressure
- History of stroke or aneurysm
- Epilepsy or any seizure history
- Pregnancy
- Severe asthma, COPD, or other significant respiratory conditions
- Panic disorder or severe anxiety (begin only with professional guidance)
- Diabetes with unstable blood sugar
- Recent surgery or current acute illness
- Any condition your physician believes could be affected by breath retention or elevated CO2
Absolute rules, no exceptions
- Never practice breath-holding in or near water unless supervised in person by someone trained and positioned to respond immediately. Shallow-water blackout gives no warning.
- Never practice while driving or operating machinery of any kind.
- Practice seated or lying down, away from hard edges and surfaces.
- Breath-holds are trained with control, never forced past clear physical signals. If you experience dizziness, tingling, chest discomfort, or visual disturbance, stop, breathe normally, and let it pass. If symptoms persist, seek medical attention.
By enrolling and practicing, you confirm that you have read this screening guidance, that you take full responsibility for your own practice, and that you assume the risks inherent in breath-hold training. When in doubt, your physician’s judgment overrides anything in this program.
