BreathHoldWork® Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the BreathHoldWork website and the BreathHoldWork mobile application ("the App") handle information and user data. Sections 1–9 cover the App. Sections 10–14 cover the website. A qualified attorney should review this policy before launch; it is provided for general informational purposes and is not legal advice.
1. Overview
The BreathHoldWork app is a practice instrument for breath-holding training. Foundation Mode is free to use. BHW Premium is an optional subscription that unlocks Advanced Practice features. The app collects only the minimum information required to operate, and only when you choose to subscribe.
2. Information We Collect
If you use Foundation Mode without subscribing, we do not collect any personal data. Your practice data remains on your device.
If you subscribe to BHW Premium, we collect:
- Subscription transaction records from Apple, used solely to validate your active subscription status
- An anonymous device-level identifier provided by Apple, used by RevenueCat (our subscription processor) to maintain your entitlement across reinstalls and devices
- Activation code redemptions, if you redeem a code provided through other channels
We do not collect:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or physical address
- Health data, biometric data, or any data from HealthKit
- Location, contacts, photos, or microphone audio
- The Apple Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA)
- Cross-app or cross-website tracking data
- Usage analytics tied to an individual user
3. On-Device Data
All practice data — sequences, session timing, preferences, training history — is stored locally on your device. This data is not uploaded to external servers, is not accessible by the developer, and can be removed by deleting the app.
4. Third-Party Services
If you subscribe to BHW Premium, your subscription is processed through:
- Apple, Inc. — handles all in-app purchases and payment data. Apple's privacy policy: https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/
- RevenueCat, Inc. — manages subscription entitlements on our behalf. RevenueCat's privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/
Foundation Mode users do not interact with any third-party services.
5. Data Retention
Subscription records are retained as long as your subscription is active and for a reasonable period after cancellation to comply with tax and accounting requirements. You can request deletion of your subscription records at any time.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, delete, or export the personal information we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at Email the BreathHoldWork® team. If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or California, additional rights apply under GDPR / UK GDPR / CCPA.
7. Children's Privacy
The BreathHoldWork app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including minors.
8. Security
Subscription data is processed via Apple and RevenueCat, both of which use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. On-device data remains under your control on your own device.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. When we do, we will update the revision date above. Material changes will be communicated via the app.
10. Website — What This Covers
This section applies to the website at breathholdwork.com, including its information pages, checkout, contact and inquiry forms, and email opt-ins. The website is hosted and operated on the Kajabi platform.
11. Information Collected Through the Website
When you browse the website, standard technical information is collected automatically — your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and pages viewed — for security, fraud prevention, and to understand general usage.
When you submit a contact form, inquiry form, application, or email opt-in, the information you enter — typically your name and email address, and any message or details you provide — is collected so I can respond to you or send the content you requested.
When you purchase, your order and payment details are processed through Kajabi and its payment processor. Card details are handled by the payment processor; they are not stored by me.
12. Cookies and Analytics
The website uses cookies and similar technologies. Strictly necessary cookies are required for the site, your session, and checkout to function. Analytics cookies, where enabled, help measure how the site is used so it can be improved. You can refuse non-essential cookies through the consent banner and control cookies through your browser settings; refusing non-essential cookies does not affect access to the site's core pages.
13. Email Marketing and Opt-Ins
If you opt in to a newsletter, lead resource, or other email list, your name and email are added to a contact list managed within Kajabi, and I may send you related emails. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time. Submitting a contact or inquiry form does not by itself subscribe you to marketing email.
14. Website Third Parties
The website relies on the following third parties:
Kajabi — hosts the website, processes checkout, and stores form submissions and contact lists. Kajabi's privacy policy: https://kajabi.com/policies/privacy
Where website analytics are enabled, an analytics provider may process the technical and usage information described in Section 11 on my behalf. No additional third-party advertising or tracking vendor is used unless this policy is updated to name it.
The App third parties (Apple, RevenueCat) are described in Section 4 and apply only to the App, not the website.
